Linear anode installation
Aligned with linear. Providing adequate cathodic-protection current to submerged metallic structures requires experience and vision. When right-of-way (ROW) is limited, particularly in congested areas where there may be multiple neighboring facilities, linear anode installation solves the problem. Linear anodes are installed beneath or adjacent to the structure. They provide inexpensive protection to selected facilities in a common ROW. Recently, we used linear-anode installations to protect pipe-type electric transmission systems below city streets, the bottoms of aboveground storage tanks, and (employing unique, deep-anode-bed designs) several natural-gas pipelines.
